Our Story

Built on Trust, Driven by Craft

We founded Hutton Building Company in 2021 because we believed homebuilding could be more personal, more accountable, and a lot less frustrating than what most clients experience. We built this from the ground up to do things differently.

We're a young company, and we own that. What we aren't is inexperienced. Our team brings decades of hands-on experience building high-end custom homes across the Triangle, and that knowledge is behind every decision we make, every material we spec, and every trade partner we choose.

When you build with Hutton, you're working directly with Matt and Joel alongside a crew of craftspeople who have spent their careers doing this work at the highest level.

He brings deep construction expertise alongside a background in design, which means he leads projects from concept through completion ensuring what gets built is both structurally excellent and visually right. He stays personally involved in every project and is directly accessible to clients throughout the process.

Owner

Joel's strength is in people and process. He helps clients navigate the often complex journey of buying land, understanding budgets, and working through all the decisions that come with building or renovating a home. His background in client relations and project finance means the business side of your project is always handled with care.
